It’s finished!
Dan has been working on two writing desks in his rare spare time — and he brought the cherry one home. Note the turquoise rocking chair in the background of one of the photos… that was handmade by Dan’s great-grandfather Bluford Brummet.
Tiger! Tiger! meets Tortoise
This tiger-maple writing desk is the twin to the cherry desk. I’ll post some samples of the stain Dan will use… It really makes the tiger pop!
A figured cherry writing desk
This is one of a pair of desks in the shop right now that Dan is making for fun (and sale?). I can’t wait to see the cherry with the finish; it’s so wormy and curly and delicious! The cherry was all milled from a single board. The slab of tiger maple that’s resting on the piece will be milled down and stained a dark brown for the top of the desk. Dan has promised me I can have this one. 😉 You can buy the maple version, or order one to your liking.
